Hi Doug,

Try this:

In the selection panel, click on the Choose visible properties button and select the Link property. Then select your TCX File link and see what it shows under the Link property. Copy that address and paste it into the address bar and see if the file downloads. If not, make sure the file downloads when clicking on the link as you would normally do.

Also, make sure your kind is selecting the <A> element.

Let me know.

The Link from the visible properties will trigger download if I paste it into the address bar.
If I turn off the download toggle the link that is extracted is also good.
And manually clicking on the field causes download.

.. puzzled

and I end up with empty directory
C:\Users\...\Documents\Helium Scraper Downloads\Project.psp\TableName\ColumnName

Is it possible for you to send the URL in which this link is?

I tested a work-around. (Not that I want to update many records.)

The site requires a login. Each record has data and a link for more downloading.
Each record has a public/private flag. After I login I can do anything, even download from the link with HS as the browser!

HS will download through script if I mark the record as public. HS will NOT download through script if I mark the record as private.
HS should have inherited my rights. In fact it did inherit my rights to VIEW the record but not to download with script through the link.

Hi Doug,

Please download the latest version (2.0.3.8) and let me know if you still have this problem while downloading private records.

Great success so I moved the HSP from laptop to desktop.
Quickly I had the error popup --

Failed to download file.
The process cannot access the file "C:\.... \mydata" because it is being used by another process.
Property: Link
Kind: DownloadLink

The file name is correct but nobody should be using it.
The desktop is a Intel Q6600 with 4 cores so spawning processes from HS seems likely.

This usually happen when the file is in a directory that is accessed by another process such as Dropbox or any other file sync service. Also, make sure you don't have any of these files open.

I think I solved it. I changed real-time file protection from NOD32. Now it's running ... NOD32 probably was scanning the downloads. It scan files of a given type and extension-less files. Earlier I saw that HS by default gave no extension to downloads and I had to specify the extension (that I wanted) in the extract table. I made sure to exclude the download types.
